The Ultimate First Apartment Essentials Checklist

Moving out for the first time was one of the most anxiety inducing things I’ve done. But planning and preparing essentials can make this big change a little less stressful and more fun!

That’s why I made a list that will help you avoid the “unknown unknowns” -Aka those sneaky items you didn’t even realize you needed (until you really, really need them…).

“With such a list, you’ll be able to avoid beginner mistakes. First, check out the items you already have. Then you’ll be able to see what’s missing and sucessfully estimate your budget.”

1. Before I Start..

2. Prioritize Necessities

You want to be smart and think over your impulsive purchases. What you start with matters.

From cleaning supplies, kitchen essentials to furniture and decoration… the list can seem never ending.

The trick is to prioritize the items you absolutely can’t live without and get them first (most likely basic kitchen tools and cleaning supplies.)

But regarding decor and furniture- Don’t get everything at once!

(You’re going to find better options later and regret buying the first thing you saw. Finding affordable pieces that are both practical and aesthetic is a process and that’s okay)
